Resigned Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi declared that the monopoly practiced by some parties will not last, but change has become near, stressing that he will be the first to hold accountable all those who break the law.
Commenting on the municipal elections, Rifi said that Tripoli is and will always be the city of coexistence, noting that his victory in Tripoli’s elections is a triumph for the civil society and every Lebanese citizen who believes in justice.
He added that his dispute with former PM Saad Hariri was based on many political matters, mainly Hariri’s endorsement for Marada chief MP Sleiman Frangieh for presidency.
Commenting on his relations with Hezbollah, he explained that his participation in the cabinet reflects his acceptance to sit with the party on the same table, stressing however, that he will not allow anyone to turn Lebanon into an Iranian state.
