In the northern region of Qobayat, the electoral day ended with results showing complete victory for the electoral ticket backed by former MP Mikhael al-Daher, MP Hady Hbeish and the Kataeb party over the Free Patriotic Movement and Lebanese Forces alliance.
But the next day, reports of two candidates from the opponents’ list winning municipal seats started emerging, since the number has shown a heated race with very close results between the competitors.
However, Hbeish’s victory remains not final as the the FPM-LF alliance prepares to file an appeal after they detected several violations committed during the electoral process.
