Head of Media and Telecommunications Parliamentary Committee, MP Hassan Fadlallah, stated after the committee’s meeting on Tuesday that Lebanon’s illegal internet file, the illegal international phone calls and the contract signed by the telecommunications ministry with Ogero were discussed.
Fadlallah stressed that ”the judiciary obtained documents related to the illegal internet file, and is working on revealing how the used equipment were brought into Lebanon, but the head of the Interior Security Forces has not given the judiciary permission to question the officers and military members.”
For his part, Telecommunications Minister Bourtos Harb explained that “if the accounting bureau had not approved the renewal of the contract with Ogera, he would have not signed it.”
Health Minister Wael Abou Faour revealed that “there is an organized Mafia that has received major coverage from officials and looted more than 500 million dollars out of the states treasury.”
“This money should be recovered in any way possible, there are hidden hands that want to cover up the scandal, and if they succeed this means that the state will fall and the credibility of politicians, government and judges will be at stake,” he emphasized.
