Wahhab to LBCI: New electoral law produces new political class

Head of the Arab Tawhid Party Wiam Wahhab stressed Thursday that Agriculture Minister Akram Chehayeb worked on addressing the waste management file in a scientific manner.

Wahhab’s remarks were made during LBCI’s Nharkom Said whereby he said that a new electoral law based on a proportional representation would produce a new political class that will be able to tackle the crises, through which the country is passing.

Commenting on the resignation of Kataeb Party’s ministers from Cabinet, he said that they should have named the corrupt files before submitting their resignation in order to support them.

On Tuesday, ministers belonging to the Kataeb Party, Economy Minister Alain Hakim and Labor Minister Sejaan Azzi, submitted their resignations. Kataeb Party leader MP Sami Gemayel said he no longer saw the point of participating in a “corrupt” and “failed” government. He added the Cabinet cared only about passing “suspicious deals” at the expense of the Treasury.
