Labor Minister Sejaan Azzi stressed Sunday that there are no contacts between him and the Kataeb party's senior leadership.
“I am an independent minister within the cabinet and I represent the Kataeb party's base without driving a wedge between it and the leadership,” he stated, adding that he represents the region of Kesserwan – al-Ftouh.
In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Azzi refused that his position leaves negative repercussions on the Kataeb party, “because he does not drink from the well and throws stones into it, but at the same time he refuses to drown in it,” as he said.
In this context, he noted that there is a big difference between commitment and acquisition, reiterating that “he is not a property ticked with an ‘eternal’ stamp.”
The minister also pointed out that he does not categorize his stance as a victory or defeat, but as a conviction and conscious; stressing that he does not want his party to be defeated.
