Prime Minister Tammam Salam issued a memorandum on Monday declaring Tuesday the 28th of June, a national day of mourning for the victims of al-Qaa’s suicide bombings.
Salam noted that “flags in all departments, public institutions and municipalities are to be flown at half-mast”, calling on Lebanese citizens to stand five minutes of silence.
Four suicide bombers killed five people and wounded 15 more in a series of attacks in a Lebanese Christian village at the border with Syria on Monday morning, the latest violent spillover of the five-year-old Syrian war into Lebanon.
