Social Affairs Minister Rashid Derbass told LBCI’s Nharkom Said on Wednesday that "the attacks in al-Qaa reveal that matters are out of order", stressing
that they targeted Lebanon and Syrians in Lebanon.
“I regret the existence of good security and “shredded” politics,” he stated, emphasizing the need to put an end to the presidential vacuum.
“The political approaches that took place after the attacks showed politicians’ discrepancy at dealing with the issue, explaining that Hezbollah deputies proposed cooperating with the Syrian government to face terrorism during the cabinet session held on Tuesday, while Minister of the Displaced Alice Chabtini called for Hezbollah’s withdrawal from Syria and Foreign minister Gebran Bassil considered Lebanon the main target of the explosions.
Derbas added that armed alert in al-Qaa and placing it in the spotlight is unhelpful.
