Lebanese officials deplore Saudi attacks

Amal Movement strongly condemned Tuesday the Saudi attacks, along with the recent bombings in Iraq and Turkey, calling for the formation of a "united operations room" to battle what it called a "security, military and cultural war."

In a statement, Amal Movement said that “terrorism affected several holy sites in the region in line with Zionist terror that is attempting to divide al-Aqsa Mosque."

Lebanese Foreign Ministry also denounced the terrorist attacks, which targeted Saudi Arabia on Sunday and Monday.

In a statement, the ministry said that these attacks aim at inciting sectarian strife, stressing that the countries of the region should unite in the face of terror crimes.

It also emphasized its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for the efforts exerted by the kingdom to spread security and stability on its territories.

For his part, Minister of Interior Nouhad Machnouq voiced his solidarity with the Saudi people “against the terrorist attacks,” conveying his utmost condolences.

Machouq’a comments were made via his Twitter account whereby he said that targeting Saudi Arabia means targeting Muslims in general and all Arabs.

He also noted that the attacks target the moderation of the Saudi kingdom and its role in defending the Arab causes and the true meaning of Islam.

A suicide bomber killed four security personnel outside the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, the second-holiest site in Islam, on Monday, the same day as devices exploded outside a Shi'ite mosque in eastern Saudi Arabia and near the US Consulate in Jeddah.
