Sheikh Kabalan calls for greater coordination between Lebanese and Syrian governments
Deputy Head of the Islamic Shiite Supreme Council Sheikh Abdel Amir Kabalan called on Tuesday for cooperation and solidarity among the Arabs and Muslims to address the dangers that threaten the entire nation.

Kabalan’s comments were made during his message for the Eid al-Fitr holiday that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

He also urged everyone “to shoulder their national responsibilities to elect a new president for the country and drafting a new and modern electoral law that gives apt representation for the Lebanese people.”

On another note, Kabalan noted that the repercussions of the Syrian crisis are “very dangerous,” adding that the Islamic State group puts Lebanon within its alleged terrorist state.”

“This requires from us greater cooperation and coordination between the Lebanese and Syrian governments in order to preserve the common interests of both countries,” he added.

Kabalan urged the Lebanese people to support the Lebanese army, the security apparatuses and the Resistance in their battle to protect Lebanon and to safeguard its borders and stability.
