Al Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front launched Wednesday evening a surprise attack on checkpoints and positions of Hezbollah in Wadi Barada and western Qalamoun.
Al-Safa checkpoint, located between Wadi Barada and Rankous, was successfully taken over by al-Nusra Front after heavy fighting with Hezbollah.
