Lebanese-Australian man denied bail after being charged with murdering wife

Lebanese-Australian man Bassam Raad was refused bail by Melbourne court after being charged with the murder of his 27-year-old wife, Zeinab Taleb.

 

Raad, 34, briefly faced an out-of-sessions court hearing on Wednesday night.

 

He was accused of murdering his Lebanese wife, who hails from the town of Ain al-Dahab in Akkar, and intentionally causing serious injuries to his three children aged two, four and six.

 

The body of his wife was found wrapped in a quilt at a tennis center car park in Dallas, 18km north of Melbourne, on June17.
