Kidnapped Lebanese citizen freed
A Lebanese citizen identified as Sami Zouein who hails from the town of Yahchouch was freed on Tuesday after being kidnapped on July 2 by members of the Jaafar family.

Zouein, who arrived to Zahle to hand the members of the Jaafar family a cheque, was kidnapped by them.

A person from the Nasserdin family later called Zouein’s son to demand a 70,000 US dollars ransom, threatening to kill the father if the ransom was not paid.

In a phone with LBCI, the business partner of the kidnappers had said that the abduction came on the background of Zouein signing cheques without balance for them.
