Foreign Ministry calls on Lebanese to remain inside Turkish airports

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry called on the Lebanese nationals stranded at Turkish airports, mainly at Ataturk International Airport in Istanbul, to remain inside the facilities in order to maintain security and safety, until the air traffic returns to normal.

The ministry issued a statement on Saturday, whereby it said that it has been closely following up on the situation in Turkey and contacting the concerned authorities through Lebanon’s embassy in Ankara and consulate in Istanbul, in order to ensure the safe return of the Lebanese nationals to Lebanon as soon as the situation would allow.

In the same context, the ministry addressed the nationals present at the Turkish airport, informing them that they can directly contact any of Lebanon’s diplomatic missions in Ankara or Istanbul in any case of emergency, using the contact information found on the ministry’s website.
