Head of Media and Telecommunications Parliamentary Committee MP Hassan Fadlallah disclosed Tuesday that investigations into the illegal internet networks are proceeding according to judicial mechanisms.

In a press conference, Fadlallah announced that an agreement was reached to convene a session dedicated to discuss the financial loss suffered by the state treasury due to the illegal internet.

He also clarified that upon the request of House Speaker Nabih Berri, the committee will continue to work on this file, adding that a session will be held on August 17 to follow up on the issue.

For his part Telecoms Minister Boutros Harb stressed that he will thwart attempts to disregard the illegal internet dossier.

"The Ministry of Telecommunications is keen on cooperating with the Media and Telecoms Committee to follow up on the matter," Harb said.

On another note, he announced that the ministry is fully devoted to studying a project to reduce internet prices.
