Elementary school teachers stage protest in Riad el-Solh Square

Elementary public school teachers holding university degrees staged on Friday a sit-in at Beirut’s Riad el-Solh Square, demanding the issuing of a draft law that equates between university degrees and educational degrees at elementary schools.

Several teachers coming from across all Lebanese regions partook in the sit-in.

The protesters stated that the difference between a teacher holding a BA and another holding an educational degree nears 9 degrees, or 18 years of teaching, meaning 600 thousands LBP difference in their salary.
