REPORT: EDL contract workers resume demonstrations, protester tries to burn himself alive

Contract workers at Electiricite du Liban in Beirut, Bekaa and in ​southern Lebanon protested on Monday, to pressure service providers into meeting their longstanding demands to become full-time employees.

 

Amer Mousa, a protester in Beirut tried to burn himself alive before EDL's building. 

 

51 contract workers staged a sit-in before EDL’s center in Bekaa, which led to the shutdown of the KVA center.

 

In ​Tyre, protesters held the protest inside the building, while the other workers carried out their duties as usual.
