Civil defense units put out fire in Adma, Beddawi refugee camp

Several cases of shortness of breath were reported Monday when a huge fire erupted at a junk, batteries and plastic products yard in the Beddawi Mountain area, adjacent to the Beddawi refugee camp.

Dozens of firefighters and fire trucks rushed to the scene to douse the blaze.

Lebanon's Red Cross and Palestinian Red Crescent ambulances admitted a number of people who suffered from shortness of breath due to the thick black smoke billowing from the yard to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Seperately, a fire broke out Monday morning in the forests of Adma. Reasons behind the fire remain unknown but civil defense units rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire.
