A sit-in was staged Monday in Beirut’s Riad al-Solh Square near the Grand Serail to express solidarity with Rozine Moughalian who needs to travel to France for a liver transplant.
The protest was held simultaneously with the Cabinet session.
Health Minister Wael Abou Faour walked into the today’s session holding the files of three patients who urgently need surgery abroad.
Moughalian, a 56 year-old psychologist and mother of two from Bourj Hammoud, developed sub-acute liver failure in the last three months, which doctors were unable to diagnose and suspect possible drug or toxin exposure.
Doctors say she needs a liver transplant in the next few days, and a petition has been started to get her to France.
