REPORT: Bekaa women, refugees turn waste into artwork

Thirty five women from Bekaa towns along with five female refugees from Syrian refugee camps joined their efforts and worked together to turn garbage into artwork used to embellish the streets of their villages.

Glass, paper and aluminum initially bound to be dumped into landfills, were turned by these women into paintings and mosaic works.

The project comes within the framework of a waste management initiative launched by Sawa Association for Development in partnership with the Council for Development and Reconstruction and in cooperation with the federation of municipalities of Central Bekaa.
