REPORT: Huge fire in Jabal Akroum leaves two people injured

Two persons identified as Abdallah Habib Khoder and Khaled Ahmad Hussein Bou Ali were wounded on Sunday while attempting to extinguish a fire that erupted in the border town of Jabal Akroum.

 

Residents of the town tried to put down the fire with basic equipment where no cars or ambulances can reach the mountains due to the lack of appropriate roads.

 

A Lebanese army helicopter headed to the scene for the fire and helped in extinguishing it.

 

Head of the town’s municipality Ali Esper thanked the Lebanese Armed Forces Command for their help in putting down the fire.

 

This as the fire devoured large swathes of forests in the town and caused huge material damages.
