Israeli security service arrests Palestinians recruited by Hezbollah via Facebook
The Israeli Internal security service said on Tuesday that it has arrested a network of Palestinian nationals reportedly recruited via Facebook by Hezbollah to carry out attacks against Israelis.
A statement issued by the service noted that "along with orders to carry out shootings and suicide bombings against Israeli targets, the recruits were ordered to help recruit more Palestinian nationals to carry out the organization’s activities."
According to the statement, in one case, a reportedly Hezbollah agent had used Facebook to recruit a resident of Qalqilya (Located in the North of the occupied West Bank), who in turn recruited four others from his city last June.
The five allegedly started to gather intelligence information concerning the Israeli army activities in the region and to conduct training on the use of weapons, before being arrested last June.
