Teachers hold protest at Beirut’s Riad al-Solh Square
Secondary schools teachers, who passed the Civil Service Council exams, staged a protest on Thursday at Beirut’s Riad al-Solh Square, calling on the government to grant them full-time employment within the Ministry of Education.

The sit-in was carried out simultaneously with a Cabinet session held at the Grand Serail.

Separately, contract teachers also held a demonstration in Riad al-Solh Square.

They urged Education Minister Elias Bou Saab to meet their demands.

They are seeking fixed, long-term employment in public schools and access to social benefits, such as pensions.
