Speaking from the Bourj Hammoud landfill, where Kataeb supporters are staging a protest, Hakim said: “Escalation seems to be the the optimal solution to stop the landfill project."
Hakim also stressed that the party seeks to protect the interests of the Lebanese citizens.
Members of the Kataeb Party resumed their protest at the Bourj Hammoud landfill Tuesday.
Protesters pitched a tent at the entrance of the site used by construction workers and truckers, demanding a halt to construction.
Kataeb members argue that the landfill is a health hazard to local residents and is being used improperly. The demonstration began last week, leading to scuffles with ISF members guarding the site.
