Loyalty to the Resistance bloc warned Thursday all the government's components of the risks that may emanate from marginalizing a main component of the country, referring to the Free Patriotic Movement.
A Cabinet session was held today despite the boycott of FPM and Tachnag Party ministers.
On Tuesday, Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, who is also head of the FPM, declared that the party’s ministers will boycott the Cabinet session to express their objection to the extension of senior military chiefs’ mandates.
Last week, Defense Minister Samir Moqbel extended the term of Major General Mohammad Kheir, the secretary-general of the Higher Defense Council, by one year, despite FPM ministers’ opposition during last week’s Cabinet session.
Following its weekly meeting, Loyalty to the Resistance bloc held the Future Movement responsible for the paralysis that the country is facing, accusing it of waiting for an external solution.
As for the illegal internet file, the bloc stressed its insistence on holding accountable all those involved in this dossier, pointing out that investigations in this regard are ongoing.
