Head of the Parliamentary Administration and Justice Committee MP Robert Ghanem, announced following the joint parliamentary committees session on Tuesday, that they agreed to form a subcommittee to study both proposals concerned with the administrative decentralization.
For his part, Head of Kataeb Party MP Sami Gemayel called on all parties and political forces to find alternatives to the waste project and an acceptable environmental solution.
Gemayel pointed out that the municipality unions will be presenting their proposals on Wednesday.
“They (municipality unions) stated on Monday that the sorting of trash reaches 10%, while the height of the ‘waste mountain’ is 15 meters, without any long-term planning” he said.
Gemayel pointed out that the problem lies in them not wanting to develop solutions.
