REPORT: Civilian casualties rising due to shelling in government-held parts of Aleppo
Over the last three months, the number of civilian casualties has continued to increase due to opposition shelling in government-controlled parts of the northern Syrian city of Aleppo, adding to the bloodshed and misery of many Syrians who have endured more than five years of war.

Since May, opposition fighters have been firing rocket shells almost daily on government-held areas of Aleppo, as they try to wrestle control of the city from government forces.

The unrelenting shelling has killed or wounded thousands of civilians, damaged numerous houses, and left many parts of the city in utter ruins.

Abdul Kader's house was badly damaged in an opposition shell attack in April.
