Resigned Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi stressed that “the indictments issued against two Syrian officers, accused of involvement in the 2013 Tripoli mosque bombings, clearly shows that the era of the Syrian tutelage in Lebanon is coming to an end and for good.”
During a press conference held on Friday, Rifi called on the Lebanese government to expel the Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon, after it was proven that the Syrian government was involved in the bombings.
Rifi pointed out that the criminal plan that took place in Tripoli was big, and the issuing of the indictments was only a result of the sacrifices made by the people of Tripoli.
