First Military Investigative Judge Riad Abou Ghaida listened Wednesday to the testimony of 13-year-old child Khaled al-Shatti, in the case of the latter’s travel to Turkey from Beirut airport after crossing all security checks without any passport or ticket.
The judge also interrogated four defendants from the General Security and issued arrest warrants against them on charges of negligence in carrying out job duties.
Last Saturday (September 03), managed to sneak through all security checks at Beirut airport into an airplane bound to Turkey and was not discovered until after takeoff. He was brought back to his family in Lebanon.
This incident raised serious issues regarding the security measures taken at Beirut airport.
