This as Minister of Tourism Michel Pharaon told LBCI that the session is only for consultations and will not tackle any items on the agenda, adding that the discussions revolve around the political crisis.
Meanwhile, sources told LBCI that PM Salam threatened to submit his resignation, adding that the only solution was to hold a “consultative session.”
Prior to the meeting, Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil clarified that Development and Liberation bloc's ministers attended today's session to respond to the call of PM Salam. For his part, Information Minister Ramzi Jreij said, “We have to listen to the concerns and we hope that the FPM returns to the government.” In turn, Agriculture Minister Akram Chehayeb expressed concern about the situation of the Cabinet, adding that Lebanon is passing through difficult circumstances. Social Affairs Minister Rashid Derbas noted that the premier's patience is ‘limitless.’
