The General Assembly of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) convened over three days in Jordan’s Amman with the issue of the Christians as a top item on its agenda.
During the meeting, the conferees approved a process set in order to fight terrorism, extremism, murders and displacement and to defend the Christians; through forming a delegation emerging from the MECC’s executive committee.
The delegation will be tasked to visit Christian and Muslim leaderships as well as the major powers and decision making capitals in order to explain the situation of the Christians in the Middle East and work on finding solutions to defend these communities and recognize their rights.
