Physicians from Bekaa Valley hospital hold protest

Medical specialists from the Riyaq Hospital, near the eastern city of Zahle, held a protest on Friday to express solidarity with Dr. Saleh al-Shall who was kidnapped earlier this week.

The protesters warned that they would halt medical care if Shall is not released, calling on Security Forces to intensify efforts in a bid to locate the physician.

Dr. Saleh al-Shall, the medical director at Ibn Sina Hospital in the city of Baalbek, was abducted on Tuesday evening, prompting protests by Baalbek residents to demand his release.

His vehicle was found late Wednesday in the vicinity of the Bekaa Valley town of Tibeh.

The honey colored pick-up truck was totally burned, while Dr. Shall's destiny remains unknown.
