Terrorist cell behind Zahle attack arrested
The Lebanese General Security arrested Friday 8 people of Lebanese and Syrian nationalities for being involved in carrying out the bomb attack that took place on August 31 at the Ksara roundabout in Zahle and killed one Syrian woman and left several others injured.

In this context, the General Security issued a statement whereby it declared that its forces arrested a cell affiliated with a terrorist organization, and which was found to be responsible for the Ksara roundabout explosion.

The statement adds that a General Security unit raided an apartment where it seized the device that was used to remotely detonate the bomb and the vehicle used by the cell’s member to transport the bomb.

Accordingly, investigations are underway with the detainees under the supervision of the public prosecution, while work is ongoing to arrest the other culprits.
