Residents of the coastal village of Kafarabida and nearby regions held a protest Saturday to raise their voice against all attempts aiming at privatizing the public properties, especially beaches.
Some of the residents have erected tents near the beach, calling for turning the Kafarabida coast into a nature reserve.
As public beaches have become so rare lately in Lebanon, activists protested against a project aiming at building a touristic resort in Batroun's Kafarabida and landfilling its rocky shores to build private villas and a port.
