Prime Minister Tamam Salam said Wednesday that Lebanon is at the heart of the battle against terrorism and is also involved in ending the violent extremism, which has turned the region and the world into “a bloody scene.”
In his speech during the launching of consultations over a national action plan to prevent violent extremism at the Grand Serail, Salam noted that confronting terrorism and extremism requires strengthening of the state’s structure, starting with the election of a new president.
Salam emphasized that “the constitution is the ultimate and sole reference allowing the organization of the public life and the only guarantor of the national balance.”
Salam also stressed “the need to abide by the constitutional provisions instead of wasting the time searching for different resources.”
