The Ghineh incident focused the spotlight towards the suffering of one mother who was subject to domestic abuse and violence until she resorted to the law, which in Lebanon is not an option that can be in her favor.
In Lebanon, two courts issue rulings on such cases related to the custody of children; a civil court, where the judge of urgent matters takes temporary measures in the case and another religious court, which issued the final decision over the custody.
