Labor Minister Sejaan Azzi suggested on Monday a detailed project and mechanism that revolves around the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.
Azzi’s remarks came during a news conference whereby he pointed out that the national identity was subject to change and the Lebanese entity was in danger due to the burden imposed by the refugee crisis.
“Syrian refugees must return to their country,” he added.
On another note, Azzi said, “The ministry is not concerned in any decision that will be taken at the New York summit in terms of the refugees so long as it is outside the framework of their repatriation.”
The minister also noted that the Lebanese delegation went to attend the summit without calling on the Cabinet to convene.
