Bassil discusses refugee crisis with Brazilian, Polish, and Angolan counterparts

Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil met with his Brazilian counterpart Jose Serra in New York and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.

They also addressed the issue of oil and gas and the Diaspora Energy Conference which will be held in Sao Paulo in November, upon the invitation of the Lebanese and Brazilian Foreign Ministries.

 

Separately, Bassil also help talks with Polish FM Witold Jan Waszczykowski who briefed him on the program set up by his government to help the displaced Syrians, expressed his desire to visit Lebanon in order to begin the implementation of this program. He also called for his country’s participation in “UNIFIL”.

 

On another note, Bassil discussed with his Angolan counterpart George Rebelo Chikoti the countries’ bilateral relations and the situation of the Lebanese community and its investments in Angola.
