A cautious calm prevailed on Thursday over al-Fawqani Street in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain al-Helweh after an intense exchange of gunfire erupted late Wednesday.
Sporadic gunfire could still be heard in the early morning hours.
Schools remained closed and Security Forces deployed in the area, calling on gunmen to withdraw from the al-Fawqani Street.
The fighting came after the camp held a general strike for the second consecutive day Wednesday to protest the killing of a Palestinian taxi driver.
Simon Tah was shot by unidentified gunmen on Monday night.
