Activists file lawsuits to call for closure of Costa Brava, Bourj Hammoud landfills

Several civil society activists filed Thursday a lawsuit before the judge of urgent matters in Baabda against the Lebanese state, al-Jihad Group for Commerce and Contracting and Beirut’s southern suburbs union of municipalities to call for the closure of the Costa Brava landfill.

Activists filed a second lawsuit to a similar judge in Jdeidet el-Metn to urge the closure of the Bourj Hammoud landfill.

 

The lawsuits were filed by lawyers Hasan Bazzi, Hani al-Ahmadiye, Abbas Srour and civil society activists Bedji Temeni and Firas Bou Hatoum.​
