Prime Minister Tammam Salam considered Thursday that “the effective management of the huge numbers of refugees does not happen through a humanitarian aid, but through a development assistance that should be at high level.”
Salam pointed out that the above-mentioned kind of assistance stimulates growth and creates new job opportunities.
Salam’s remarks came during a forum on refugees held in New York and called for by Lebanon, Italy, Jordan and other countries.
