Ghosta mayor Ziad Chalfoun declared on Friday that a plant for the treatment of solid waste will be established in the town, indicating that the factory will solve half of the garbage crisis in the Kesrouan area.
Following a meeting for the waste committee with Minister of Interior Nouhad al-Machnouq, Chalfoun stated the minister gave a preliminary approval to the project, noting that that they will rent a land from St. Chalita monastery and the plant will be of the municipality’s ownership.
He revealed that works on the plant are set to kick off at the beginning of 2017.
