Rifi: We will fight 'fiercely' to preserve our identity

Resigned Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi said Sunday that the Iranian project sought to be implemented in the Arab states with a different demographic nature will not be achieved.

“We will be fierce fighters to preserve our Arab and Lebanese identity and prevent Iran from changing it,” he stated, noting that nominating any candidate close to Hezbollah or Bashar al-Assad is “the greatest form of surrender.”

“When we nominate Sleiman Frangieh or Michel Aoun, we would have sold ourselves cheaply.”

During a meeting with popular crowds from Tripoli, Rifi emphasized that his only plan is to fight for the cause, for which hundreds and thousands of people lost their lives and became martyrs, mainly former PM Rafiq Hariri.
