Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil said that “the Lebanese identity is what unites all the Lebanese people around the world together,” noting that “the current challenges facing Lebanon make it hard to stay in the country.”
In a speech he delivered during a dinner in the state of Texas, Bassil addressed the Lebanese emigrants in the US saying: “You belong to a great country and you are a great people, one of the most important in the world in its culture, achievements and values including mutual respect and coexistence.”
