The drinking water supplied for the citizens in the northern city of Tripoli is under threat of extreme pollution, since the channels bringing the drinking water into the city are adjacent to the sewage canals.
Commenting on these facts, head of North Lebanon Water Authority Kamal Mawloud said that “there is no need to be concerned over the drinking water in Tripoli, since it is being treated and monitored in a laboratory and water treatment plant.”
But he did not deny that the underground water being polluted due to the sewage, which consequently affects the drinking water.
