REPORT: Bassil vows to confront those who block partnership

Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil said on Tuesday that there are attempts to make reconciliation in the country, warning all those who try to block the partnership that the Free Patriotic Party “will confront them with all its strength’

Bassil’s comments were made after the Change and Reform bloc’s weekly meeting in Rabieh whereby he noted that the issue of displaced aims at naturalizing and resettling refugees in Lebanon, stressing however that the bloc’s approach in the regard is to provide the appropriate conditions for their return.

He also addressed the Lebanese women saying that the party “sympathizes with their rights in terms of nationality law,” expressing however fears over a collective naturalization”

On another note, Bassil said that the National pact is a Lebanese concept; adding that it is neither racist nor sectarian.
“We will not accept to violate the rights of Christians and Muslims whom we defend, and if we are in power, it increases our responsibility to defend the Lebanese people,” he concluded by saying.
