United Nations special coordinator for Lebanon Sigrid Kaag and the United Nations humanitarian coordinator Philip Lazzarini discussed on Wednesday the priorities and the challenges that encounter Lebanon, includimg the consequences of the refugees’ presence in Lebanon during a meeting with journalists.
Kaag emphasized the importance of the Lebanese security and stability, noting that there are many ways for conflict preventions, such as through development interventions, humanitarian assistance and public diplomacy as well as quiet diplomacy.
Regarding naturalization fears, Lazzarini confirmed that are no intentions to naturalize Syrian refugees in Lebanon, adding that what is happening in besieged Aleppo is a humanitarian catastrophe.
