REPORT: Palestinian child killed in hit and run accident, UNRWA to blame
Young men blocked Monday a main road near the entrance of the Nahr al-Bared Palestinian refugee camp following death of Palestinian little girl Asraa Ismail, who was hit and her grandmother by a car on the Mahmmara-Minyeh highway.

The protesters held The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) responsible for the accident.

Palestinian popular committees in the North announced a general strike and called for a sit-in to be carried out before UNRWA offices.

The committees stressed that the Palestinian factions are following up on the incident to reveal the circumstances that led to the death of the 5-year-old infant, calling on the concerned sides to swiftly turn the Red Crescent Center into a hospital.

For his part, the mayor of Bebnine town deplored the conditions that the Palestinian refugees must endure, particularly in Nahr al-Bared.

The little girl died after she spent three hours in al-Khair Hospital in the region of Minyeh, waiting for her transfer to another facility as she was in need of a breathing apparatus due to injuries she was suffering.
