REPORT: Waste treatment plants burnt across Lebanon, is it a coincidence?

Waste sorting and treatment plants have been burning across the largest Lebanese cities.

In two weeks, three plants caught fire, Sidon's sorting plant, where flames erupted in its vicinity, Baadran plant in Chouf, which burned completely and used to treat the waste of 15 towns and the Baalbeck plant, a 600 thousand euros facility, which used to treat the waste of 30 towns in northern Bekaa.

In this regard, the mayors of Baalbek and Baadran stressed that the burning of the plants was arson, while the officials in Sidon issued a statement whereby they raised question marks over the causes of the fire.

The security forces launched investigations into the incidents, but the question remains” why these plants are burning at this time?
