REPORT: Internet services back to normal in Jbeil, Akkar and northern Lebanon
Telecommunications Minister Boutros Harb announced Friday that internet services were back to normal in Jbeil, Akkar and northern Lebanon after fixing the damages that resulted from a fire, which broke out earlier today.

During the day, Harb issued instructions to take the necessary measures after sudden crashes occurred to Alexandros marine cable, calling for securing parallel international lines on the marine cables.

This comes after complaints emerged concerning bad internet service in several Lebanese regions.

In this context, the media bureau of Ogero committee issued a statement whereby it said that the Alexandros submarine cable faced technical damages in the early morning hours, leading the fiber optic cables linking stations in Keserwan and Jbeil to North Lebanon to stop working properly.

The damages caused an outage in telephone services in several regions in Keserwan and Jbeil, as well as an outage in internet services across Jbeil, North Lebanon and Akkar.
