REPORT: Berri calls for national agreement either through dialogue or voting
Prime Minister Tammam Salam met Monday with Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain al-Tineh and left without making any statement.

According to sources from Ain al-Tineh, Berri called for a national agreement over the presidential issue during dialogue or the election of a president during a parliamentary session.

The sources added that a legislative session is set to be scheduled, stressing that it will be held for sure.

In this regard, the sources said that “the participation of the Free Patriotic Movement in the legislative session will not have any repercussions concerning the stances over the presidential issue, since such session concerns only the Lebanese people.”

In the same context, Secretary of the Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan said that they will participate in the session scheduled for Tuesday and dedicated to elect members of the parliament’s bureau committee and the parliamentary committees.
